Thursday January 28, 2010 Westcountry: Fair fares for 16 and 17 year olds
Devon Fixers are campaigning to reduce the cost of public transport in the county for 16 and 17 year olds. They have joined with local artist Jane Perkins to create a bus ticket collage in the shape of a bus to drum up public interest in joining the project. A Kent student who is recovering from anorexia has become an ITV Fixer to compile a groundbreaking book. “Mary”, 19, is looking for contributors to the project, which is intended to help others who are at risk. Mary, a student from Canterbury, says she wants to show how destructive the disease is: “I’m trying to collect lots of content and stories, looking for art that can raise the emotions." Watching his peers fall into a life of crime has inspired a 16 year old Oxford man to write a rap about the dark consequences of youth violence. ITV Fixer Aaron Coleman’s rap video was partly filmed in a prison cell and shows the outcomes of both negative and positive lifestyle choices.
